"As soon as the show started, it was mass chaos. It felt like 150 degrees in there and sopping wet, sweaty bodies were flying everywhere. It was incredible! As a fan, I love that kind of energy, but as a photographer, it was a nightmare. I was getting elbowed, kicked, kneed and slammed by flying bodies launching at me from every angle. Amazingly, Kurt not only saw this, but he reached down, grabbed me and helped me swing onto the stage next to him. Parked safely between Kurt and Dave, I was able to get to work. There is no doubt in my mind that this was THE greatest show I have ever been to - no other club show can compare, except maybe the Nirvana show at Raji’s."

LA rock photographer Kevin Estrada has been shooting photographs of musicians since he began sneaking his camera into rock shows when he was a teenager. Estrada’s amassed a staggering collection of photographs – over two million strong – that includes everything from vintage photos of Van Halen and Guns N' Roses to current acts like Avenged Sevenfold. He’s worked closely with artists such as Nirvana, Mötley Crüe and My Chemical Romance as well as dozens of others, including the legend, Johnny Cash. His collection includes not only live concert photos, but intimate moments in the studio, at home and on the road – unique images that fans rarely get the chance to experience. Kevin is now sharing some of his favorite images and the stories that go along with them on his blog at www.kevinestrada.wordpress.com which will also be featured right here on The Rockvine. Estrada is not just a photographer but is a true music fan, and few have done more to document some of the most exciting periods in Rock & Roll history.
